Testimonials

"I want to tell you how happy we are with the changes in our home. It is a more restful, inviting environment. It amazes me what a difference a few, relatively inexpensive changes have made. And I just keep coming up with more ideas! That whole idea of stored family heirlooms depleting my energy has helped me realize it is time to get rid of some things I have held onto only because I have had them forever. Today we are taking on the garage. This all feels so right and good to me. Thank you soooo much for your helpful suggestions." R.C., Tacoma

"I highly recommend the services of Empty Your Nest Professional Organizing.  Without judgment, with warmth and a professional eye, my organizer is helping me turn chaos into order.  THe services are priced reasonably and, with seemingly little effort, I have seen immediate results.  I find that modifying a few behavior patterns has made a huge difference.  I have so much more energy as a result.  Empty Your Nest changed my life!  A happy customer, Jo Ann S., Lynnwood"

"It occurred to me this morning as I was sorting through my mail how much I value the advice my organizer gave me. I now know what to throw away, what to do later, and what to keep in my files. When I'm overwhelmed, I know how to let something go without guilt. These are just a few examples of the way her influence helps me in my everyday life. In addition to all of her practical help with unpacking boxes and setting up my filing system, my organizer provided invaluable guidance on how to keep my home and life organized. She did all this with a positive attitude that was assertive yet encouraging."  C.B., Woodinville

"Thanks again for helping our family learn how to purge the unnecessary, and live a better life!" M.C., Tacoma

"The organizers at Empty Your Nest were professional, enthusiastic, capable, and helpful. Best of all, they taught me how to organize my home by engaging me in the process of creating an efficient use of space. After working with Empty Your Nest, I feel far more capable of keeping my house organized. I also feel like I have learned the skills to organize spaces myself. This is a great company, run by great people!"   C.P., Seattle

"I chose Empty Your Nest based on Angie's List recommendations and the information posted on their Web site. During appointments, my organizer brings both enthusiasm and energy to the organization task and many GREAT ideas for organizing that have really helped make our daily living simpler and are sustainable. Though she adheres to sound organization principles, each solution is adjusted to suit my family. This is exactly the help I was looking for. "

"[Empty Your Nest was] great because they are extremely polite. They're good at working with people with disabilities and hoarding issues and I really appreciated that. They work very fast and efficiently and basically just do their job." S.G., Bellevue

"My Empty Your Nest organizer spent 2 hours helping us organize our home in preparation to selling it. We went room to room, closets included. Her motto "Less is Best" means simplify (get rid of clutter) and have a consistent style in each room. Her ideas and written report were detailed, economical, well suited to our home and neighborhood, and a definite improvement." T.H., Seattle

"We had an appointment with our Empty Your Nest Organizer in a week. She called the day before to confirm and arrived on time. She energized and encouraged us. She is articulate and knowledgeable. Following her report and my notes we are donating, storing and organizing 20 years of stuff, completing a basement room (wine cellar) and painting some rooms. We definitely got more than our money's worth." S.B., Seattle

"The staff of Empty Your Nest was an incredibly good match for my organizing needs. The can-do attitude, upbeat personality, and the willingness to tackle almost anything makes them so easy to work with. They are not daunted by hard work or by my occasional backsliding. They can deal with many organizing needs, but specialize in organizing offices and files, helping people with ADD and hoarding issues, and working with families. The staff of Empty Your Nest is professional and enthusiastic organizing coaches. I am so satisfied with the service they provide, that I continue to work with them on an ongoing basis." M.W., Seattle

"If you’re like me, you’re on the fence about whether or not to hire a professional organizer.  And, if you’re like me, you’ve considered it every month for a year or more wondering, “Would a service like that help me?  Nah, probably not.  Besides, it’s going to be expensive, and, hey, I can do this myself, anyway.”  The thing is, you can’t do it yourself, that’s why it hasn’t been done by now.  At least this is what I learned about my own situation.

Life Before Amy (BA) and life After Amy (AA) showed me that I’d lost years of productivity and functionality, convinced that one day I would miraculously come up with the time, energy and more importantly, the skill to bail myself out of the disorganization that manifested as piles of papers and boxes with unknown contents surrounding me.  And I believed that once this feat was accomplished, I would finally reach the day that I could begin living a productive life in a home I was proud to share with others.

But that day never came.  That is, not until I called Empty Your Nest.

After several consecutive home improvement projects had forced me to pack up and move entirely out of my upstairs, spilling the contents of 3 bedrooms and six closets, furnishings and all, into my living room, I was at the end of my rope.

Phoning Amy at Empty Your Nest was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.  She heard the anxiety in my voice, and scheduled me right away. Through understanding which battles to pick and how best to break the attack into manageable tasks, she was able to help me through a huge mass that was an accumulation of years of neglect that had landed in my main living area allowing only a narrow passage way through which to access the windows.

Using a divide and conquer-technique, Amy was able to pass along some of her skill so that I could begin maintaining things for myself in the future.  We worked mostly in 2 to 3-hour sessions, once per week until I felt I could manage the rest myself.  And through having her as an inspiration, a guide and a co-worker in all of this, even my husband got involved! He and I worked together each week.  Amy gave us homework sorting-assignments to complete before the next visit when she and I would meet again to chip away at the mountain.

In addition to Amy’s help, I also worked with Samantha, one of Empty Your Nest’s professional closet organizers.  I didn’t expect to get that far with the service but it became clear to me how quickly disorganization spills from one area to another.  So, now, one of my bedrooms (10x12) is being set up for 4 functions! The two closets there are allowing this to work beautifully, and Samantha only needed to design one of them for me.  What a great savings!

I’m now enjoying using systems that work, and am able to apply them to all aspects of my life.  This is something I would NOT EVER have been able to do without professional assistance.  I can confidently say after having worked with Amy and Samantha at Empty Your Nest, I will NEVER have to live with clutter again!

Whether or not to call a professional organizer is a quality of life issue.  You pay for it one way or another other.  It all depends on whether or not you want the problem fixed, or whether you’d rather go on paying to escape it.  As a trade-off, I’ve decided to cut back on things I realize now are nothing more than activities used to purchase an escape from chaos.  I’m using the cut backs to pay for this brand new start in my brand new nest.

My advice is: Call Empty Your Nest.  Do it before too many tomorrows are lost in the fantasy you may be holding about how you can escape it on your own.  Don’t be too proud, or too cheap.  Your future depends on it."
